Maple Syrup Chocolate Chip Cookies

Published by Joshua Eng on

Did I tell you all that I am an award winning baker now? At least, I am in the city of San Dimas….at a church….for the month of December.

The judges of the bake-off who enjoyed my cookies

My Church has a potluck at the beginning of each month and usually they would have some sort of cook/bake off to entice the community to participate. One of my good friends and associate pastor of the church convinced me to the enter the contest last minute. The idea for this came up when I mentioned making a semolina maple syrup cake for Thanksgiving. It did not turn out the best, but when transforming this dessert idea into cookie form, it apparently worked out. As with all my baked recipes, this was also non-dairy. I had no expectations for this bake-off, but I ended up winning. Perhaps I’ll make this again for the holidays. Please don’t ask me for the recipe quite yet, I need to keep it so I can repeat as the champion for the next bakeoff I do.
